On behalf of the Board of Directors and myself, Alliance Seed is delighted to announce the appointment of Karlene Yakemchuk as our new Sales Manager effective July 4th. In this role, Karlene will be responsible for increasing sales and growth of Alliance Seed products for Alliance Seed growers and the retail network. Karlene will assist the Alliance Seed network to prospect, identify, and follow through with sales opportunities, coach retails on product placement, and promote the Alliance Seed brand. Karlene will work closely with Rob McDonald, Production Manager to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.

Many of you will remember Karlene from her time spent as a summer student with Canterra Seeds where she started her love affair for all things seed. Karlene has a strong background in customer service, gained from her recent roles in Northeast Alberta with BASF, P&H and most recently with Cargill Vegreville. Karlene comes to Alliance Seed with a passion for the agriculture industry and in particular a love of cereal seed and all things related to it. Karlene’s enthusiasm, energy, openness, as well as her knowledge of western Canadian agriculture will be a great asset to the small and mighty Alliance Seed team as we continue to grow.

Karlene has a BSc. Environmental and Conservation Science from U of A, as well as a diploma in Environmental Monitoring & Protection form Lakeland College in Vermillion. Karlene is a Professional Agrologist (PAg) and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA-PP). Outside of her work commitments, Karlene enjoys riding and showing horses, curling as well as helping out on her husband’s family farm near Hairy Hill, AB whenever she can.
